How do I get started?
I'm receiving no reply and it's been five days since I contacted a tutor.

What are Group Tutoring and Mentorship/Social initiatives?
- Group Tutoring allows you and a couple friends to learn with the same tutor together. For more details, visit here.
- Our free Mentorship initiative allows students to band together in a group of own peers led by LFC mentors to socialize weekly in a low-stress setting. Students in first-year also receive expert advice from upper year leaders about how to survive university. Visit here for more info
How do online sessions work?
- You have the option of choosing an online tutoring session. The tutor will host the session on a platform suited to their teaching style. Email them before the session if you have virtual teaching tools you prefer the tutor to use.
How do I pay LFC?
- LFC accepts only e-transfers to [email protected], even for in-person sessions. You pay right after your tutoring session.
- If you have trouble with e-transfers, email us at the same address and we'll sort something else out.
- As we have improved our online infrastructure, cash is no longer accepted.
I have a form that allows free tutoring (to be paid at a later date). What do I do? (e.g. an athletic form that provides free tutoring and reimburses tutoring costs).
- We require a payment immediately after a session ends, but the tutor will be happy to sign your form, and you may receive the reimbursement from the athletics department yourself. If this does not work for you, email [email protected]
Do you have tutoring sessions during reading week?
- Yes, we do. However, expect more sessions to be online and less conforming to the 1.5hr blocks laid out by the university.
Where are the tutoring sessions held?
- They are held anywhere on campus or online! Your tutor will give you a link or location to meet up once they contact you, but you can propose a new place to meet if needed.
- Feel free to also book a study room on campus and let them know.
What if a class is not offered on the tutor list?
- This likely means we do not have a tutor available for this course. Feel free to contact us to confirm, or to see if we have anyone willing to tutor for it. There are also courses that can be tutored by other classes’ tutors
- Calculus
- All Calculus 1 tutors (MAT1320 and 1330) can be used interchangeably if you give your notes to your tutor beforehand (DTDS in 1330 is not explored in 1320) but use your own class’s tutors first if available.
- Both sets of tutors can teach MAT1300, MAT1308, MAT1318, or MAT1339.
- MAT1327 is considered equivalent to 1330 in every way.
- Calculus 2 classes (MAT1322, 1325, 1332) are too different to be interchangeable, unless you are desperate. They can also teach MAT1303 and all above courses teachable by Calculus I tutors.
- MAT1341 students can also teach MAT1302.

- Physics:
- PHY1121, 1122, 1321, 1322, 1331 tutors can ALL be contacted for your requests if there is a shortage, but use your own class’s tutors first if available.
- Tutors have likely taken both physics, which covers everything anyway.
- Tutors themselves will judge their competence on specific topics. Some are comfortable with only one class's material
