Learning for Charity
Learning for Charity (LFC) is a nonprofit organization that provides uOttawa students with affordable tutoring while also contributing 100% of our proceeds to charity. All our tutors are volunteers donating their time to help out. We tutor many popular courses: Head to our Home Page to find our definitive list. To book your no-commitment tutoring session today, head to Book Your Session.
LFC also focuses on giving everyone the chance to take up tutoring. It's incredibly rewarding and we will help you get started today. We also run events throughout the year for charity too. Being part of the LFC team lets you be part of a community that loves to learn and teach. Applications are always open! to join our team today, head over to Join Us.

Our Story
LFC starts in 2018 with Danny Ke and Yifei Wang, uOttawa students in their second year of Biomedical Sciences. Starting from scratch, they put their passions into action, while continuing to learn from their mistakes. LFC started with a bank of tutor emails matched to tutor requests manually. But it grew year by year, with new initiatives and improvements continually being added, such as Executive meetings, social media, fully-online tutoring infrastructure (due to COVID), Mentorship, and now new chapters across Ontario! With these goals in mind, education can always be more accessible to the student community while supporting meaningful charities.
Danny Ke
danny.yujia.ke@gmail.com FOUNDER, CO-PRESIDENT (2018-20), SENIOR ADVISOR (2020-21) I pitched the LFC tutoring idea back in 2018 because of how rewarding it was when I first got a chance to tutor, and I wanted to give everyone at uOttawa this opportunity. It was scary at first, but as Yifei and I grew as stronger leaders and learned from our mistakes, we were able to establish ourselves well in LFC. Can't wait to see how it'll evolve going forward! Thanks to all the tutors and execs who help with our mission! |
Yifei Wang
yifeiwang1122@gmail.com FOUNDER, CO-PRESIDENT (2018-20), SENIOR ADVISOR (2020-21) Starting LFC with Danny has been one of the most rewarding experiences from my time at the University of Ottawa. I met some of the most hard-working and passionate people through this club and I have been so lucky to build relationships and friendships with them. I am confident that LFC will continue to thrive in the future and will continue to provide students with the services they need! |
